Your Guide to Going Gold!

As a volunteer, the support that you provide girls is integral to their success! Today we are excited to reveal the new Gold Award Rubric and Guide that illuminates the achievements of extraordinary girls in our community.

Since 1916, Girl Scouts have answered the call to drive lasting, impactful change. It is earned by girls in grades 9–12 who demonstrate extraordinary leadership in developing sustainable solutions to local, national, and global challenges.

It is the highest award for GIrl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors and through its pursuit of excellence and service, this award allows a high school Girl Scout to address an issue she’s passionate about in a way that produces meaningful and lasting change on a local, national, and/or global level. The Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable.

As you work to identify and mentor girls in your community who fit the requirements of a Gold Award Girl Scout, you can help them on their path to success.

Here’s how:

  1. Read up on our Gold Award Guide for Adults which gives you all of the important information on the process and guidelines

  2. Help your girl to understand the differences between Take Action & Community Service Projects so that you can best support your girl on her journey

  3. Encourage and guide your girl to take the lead on identifying the community issue that means that most to her and then help her develop a project and network to facilitate her journey

The Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable. As these exemplary girls work to tackle issues that are dear to them and drive meaningful and lasting change in their communities and beyond, YOU are also part of that journey!
