Outdoor October Pumpkin Patch + Carving Contest
Updated: Oct 26, 2020
What better way to celebrate Outdoor October than with a fun, fall-themed contest? Are you ready, Girl Scouts?!
On Friday, October 30th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona is hosting a Scary Good Sisterhood Halloween Drive-Thru event to celebrate the spooky season with our fellow Girl Scout Sisters. While attendees aren't allowed out of their vehicles, you can still participate in the fun!
Pumpkin Carving Contest:
Visit a local Pumpkin Patch in your favorite Girl Scout attire and pick your pumpkin! The Marana Pumpkin Patch, Yuma Family Pumpkin Patch, and Apple Annie's Produce and Pumpkins are all great options. If there isn't a pumpkin patch near you, or you can't make it out this year, a store-bought pumpkin works just fine, too!
Take pictures of you getting outdoors and choosing your pumpkin and share with us on social media or via e-mail at email@example.com!
Get creative! Whether you carve your pumpkin into a traditional scary jack-o-lantern, a silly monster, or a pretty princess, it's all about having fun and showcasing your creativity.
Submit your pumpkin into the Pumpkin Carving Contest! Voting will take place online via Facebook only-- keep an eye out for the voting album. There are a few options for submitting: (1) Bring in your pumpkin to the Girl Scout shop (Tucson location only) on 10/29 or 10/30 between 10am-5pm. The physical pumpkins will be used as display items at the Scary Good Sisterhood Halloween event. We will also do the honors of photographing your pumpkin and add it to the Facebook album for voting. (2) Take a good, clear picture of your pumpkin and e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will add it to the Facebook album for voting. (3) Bring your pumpkin to the Scary Good Sisterhood event and drop it off with us. We will do the honors of photographing your pumpkin and add it to the Facebook album for voting.
Tell your family and friends to vote for your pumpkin! Voting opens Friday, October 30 at 6pm and closes Monday, November 2 at 9am. Winners will also be announced on Monday. All physically submitted pumpkins can be picked up from the Girl Scout shop on 10/31 between 10am-4pm.
