COVID-19 Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona Council Updates: June 29, 2021
Girl Scouts’ number one priority is the safety and well-being of our members and the families and communities we serve. As we continue to consult the current federal, state, and local COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions in our region, GSSoAz has provided the following updates to our current Phase 2 guidelines as they relate to overnight trips and activities:
Overnight trips and activities. Overnight stays may begin to commence as long as they are in alignment with our current council practices. All overnight attendees must present a negative COVID test, taken within 7 days prior to the event. Troops must submit these results to council prior to the event. (Walgreens is offering free rapid tests within 24 hours via drive thru. You must make appointment online.)
Please note that a short trip form must be completed to notify the council about a trip that lasts three days or less, takes place outside of your normal troop meeting time or place, and occurs outside of your town or city. You must submit this form for trip approval at least three weeks in advance.
·We would like to remind our volunteers of the importance of regularly checking and following real-time local and national safety directives. As a council we will continue to monitor and implement the appropriate health and safety steps provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
These amended guidelines are intended to be used for volunteers in conjunction with Safety Activity Checkpoints and according to state and local COVID-19 circumstances.
We appreciate everyone’s compliance with our safety protocols as it is all of our responsibility to keep girls and members safe. ‘On my honor’.
